Live! In Lake Country is launching an exciting summer 2024 season with Andrew Johns and local Celtic-inspired group: Cod Gone Wild Trio.
This year’s FREE 8-week Friday night concert series sponsored by TD, begins with “the one man band” Andrew Johns. Bringing his unique musical variety and humour to the stage and more than 40 years of experience, Andrew Johns is known for taking audiences on a ride through the ages of music.
Johns loves to make people smile and evoke emotion through the performance of his cover tunes, impersonations and even original songs. From Victor Borge styled classical music to his unmatched impersonation of Elton John he always gives more than is expected.
In every aspect of his work, on and off the stage, Andrew Johns goes above and beyond, ensuring that each performance is a memorable and extraordinary experience for his audience.
Armed with perfect pitch, professionalism, and an uncanny ability to mimic anything he hears while putting his own personal spin on it, Andrew Johns is an incredible performer and will bring joy and excitement to LIVE! In Lake Country.
Rounding out the night will be the Celtic-inspired toe-tapping tunes from the Cod Gone Wild trio. Their unique style, upbeat stage presence, and rich harmonies will keep the energy high at Swalwell Park for opening night.
Cod Gone Wild features members Andrew Mercer on lead vocals and guitar, Susan Aylard on fiddle, and Sean Bray on electric guitar. Based out of the Okanagan Valley since 2009, the trio has created a fusion of sound that combines traditional tunes with a modern vibe.
“Growing up in Newfoundland and being exposed to traditional music at a young age, there will always be a strong Newfoundland influence in Cod Gone Wild’s music,” Mercer explains, “[...]having musicians from various musical backgrounds allows us to create something a little more modern and edgy that will have a broader appeal to audiences…”
Through their dynamic stage presence and uplifting energy, they weave together a tapestry of tales that evoke a nostalgic experience of days gone by.

Concert goers can also support and explore the Lake Country Farmers & Crafters Market at Swalwell Park from 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. to pick up fresh fruit, produce, prepared food and inspired crafts.
