Regular Council Meeting Highlights - October 1, 2024

DELEGATIONS

Lynne Fanelli, Executive Director of Lake Country Museum & Archives provided an update to Council on Strategic Priorities for 2025-2029. 

Development Variance Permit

Council approved the application at 5150 Finch Road for an addition of a secondary suite that exceeds the allowable 90 m2 outlined in the zoning bylaw. The applicant intends to build a 155.2 m2 secondary suite within the single-family home. 

Development Permit with Development Variance Permit

Council approved a Development Permit at 3386 Woodsdale Road for a 18-unit residential apartment with two ground oriented commercial units within a single building. Council also approved the Development Variance permit for landscaping and parking related to the design. 

Zoning Amendment

Council gave two readings to adding Strata Hotel/Motel as a Secondary Use at 9652 and 9654 Benchland Drive - Zara at Lakestone. The application will have a public hearing scheduled in November.

Disaster Risk Reduction – Climate Adaptation Grant

Council supported staff applying for the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) Disaster Risk Reduction – Climate Adaptation funding stream in the amount of $150,000 for a Climate Change Hazard, Risk, & Vulnerability Assessment.
