Zoning Bylaw Amendment

Council gave three readings to Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1235, 2024 that proposes to rezone 3223 Woodsdale Road from C10-Service Commercial to C1 – Town Centre Commercial. Conditions required prior to adoption include securing rental housing on the subject property for a 10-year term, securing road dedication at the northwest corner of the subject property and removing the existing covenant restricting residential land use.

Road Closure Application

Council gave three readings to Road Closure Bylaw 1234, 2024 which proposes to close a section of Third Street adjacent to 11441 Okanagan Centre Road West and transfer the portion of closed road to the adjacent property owners.

Urban Chicken Enforcement Update

Staff provided Council an update on the status of urban chickens in Lake Country. The moratorium on the enforcement of chickens in urban areas remains in place and staff are not seeking any further direction from Council on lifting the moratorium or directing resources.

Zoning Amendment (Small-Scale Multiple Housing) Bylaw 1238, 2024

Council adopted Bylaw 1238, 2024 which amends Zoning Bylaw 561, 2007 to accommodate the Province’s new Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing (SSMUH) legislation (Bill 44) and requires local governments to permit between 2-6 housing units in residential zones that are otherwise restricted to single-family dwellings and duplexes. Development Approval Procedures Bylaw 1227, 2024

Council adopted Bylaw 1227, 2024, an updated Development Approval Procedures Bylaw that provides alignment with recent updates to the Official Community Plan, Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw, Building Regulation Bylaw and Council Procedures Bylaw with the goal of streamlining and simplifying development processes and meeting the provincial requirements related to the SSMUH legislation (Bill 44) that encourage residential growth and infill development.
