Public Notice: File # Z0000341 Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1246, 2024

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Sections 464(1) and 466 of the Local Government Act (LGA) that a Public Hearing will be held for the proposed Zoning Amendment (Z0000341) Bylaw 1246, 2024.

WHAT: The purpose of this proposed bylaw amendment is to authorize and regulate the keeping of backyard chickens on lots in urban areas. In addition to specific zones and minimum lot sizes, the proposed amendments would regulate backyard enclosures (design, size, location), required maintenance (of feed and waste), and the management of hens (personal use only).

WHEN: Members of the public can attend the Public Hearing on January 14, 2025 at Municipal Hall, 10150 Bottom Wood Lake Road at 7:00 pm. A live stream of the meeting can be viewed on the website at https://www.lakecountry.bc.ca/council-meeting-calendar.

PROPERTY: The bylaw would apply to parcels throughout the District that comply with the regulations. 

INFORMATION: The proposed bylaw and relevant information are available at Municipal Hall, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding weekends and statutory holidays or by email request to planning@lakecountry.bc.ca. Any correspondence received in response to this Notice will be distributed to Council and may be included in the Council Agenda package and published on the District of Lake Country.

If you believe your interest in property is affected by the above noted application, you shall be afforded a reasonable opportunity to be heard at the Public Hearing or present a written submission in advance.  Written submissions for a public hearing will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on the date of the Public Hearing.

Public Notice: Folktale Cidery application

Folktale Cidery has made application to the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch proposing:

  • Indoor Lounge Endorsement Area for 30 people (patrons & staff)
  • Hours of liquor service from 9 am – 10 pm, Monday through Sunday,
  • Liquor Service Ends at 9:30 pm (Hour reduced in shoulder seasons)
  • Located at 3950 Irvine Road, Lake Country, B.C. (R0000379)

The District of Lake Country is soliciting the views of residents and businesses that may be affected by the proposed change. If you believe your interests may be affected, please forward your written comments, including your address to determine proximity, to:

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Sections 464(1) and 466 of the Local Government Act (LGA) that a Public Hearing will be held for the proposed Official Community Plan Amendment (OCP00061) Bylaw 1263, 2024.

WHAT: The purpose of this proposed bylaw amendment is to include 5 properties in the Tyndall bench area within the conceptual sewer area boundary on Map 6-Sewer Service Infrastructure of the Official Community Plan (2018-2038) Bylaw 1065, 2018 (OCP). Each property is located within the OCP’s urban containment boundary (Map 3 – Urban Containment Boundary) and designated urban residential (Map 1 – Future Land Use Plan).
