Update Your Mailing Address

Mailing Address Changes:

To change the mailing address for your Property Tax and Utility accounts, you must issue the request with BC Assessment Authority and Land Title and Survey Authority.  There are a number of notices and documents which property owners may receive, such as the annual assessment, property tax, and speculation tax notices which may be delayed if the mailing address is not current.

BC Assessment will update your address and then forward the address change to the District. Note, when filling out their change of address form, Lake Country's Area is 19 and the Jurisdiction is 331.

Land Title and Survey Authority will also update your address and then forward the address change to the District. This is also the only method of updating your name on Title.

The District of Lake Country receives regular updates from BC Assessment and the Land Title Survey Authority to ensure records are consistent.

How names and addresses are managed for Property Tax and Utility accounts:

The District of Lake Country mails property tax notices and utility bills to the property owners on file, the District does not mail notices to tenants. Both the tax notice and the utility bill are mailed to the same name and address and cannot be directed to different addresses.

For most strata properties, a utility bill for water is mailed to the strata or property management company, individual owners do not typically receive water on their utility bill.
