Canadian indie folk-pop vocalist and songwriter, Forest Blakk has spent his career soundtracking love stories of all kinds – including “I Choose You”, and breakout Platinum-certified smash single “If You Love Her” – which has been streamed globally over 450 million times, and saw a collaboration with Meghan Trainor on a stunning duet version. Creekside Theatre is pleased to host an October 22nd performance by Blakk as he showcases music’s power to transform both the audience and artist.
Forest Blakk’s music comes from an unshakable sense of purpose, and a belief in building beauty from life’s most painful moments. Growing up in Montreal, with time spent in Florida and Jamaica, he first took up guitar as a refuge from his chaotic home life, then spent years learning to channel his most complex emotions into song. Moving to Calgary at age 21, he formed a band – Makeshift Innocence – that later earned a JUNO nomination. After the band dissolved, Blakk embraced a more soulful and folk-leaning sound that defines his music today.
